"XenApp" is brilliant!

I love the name XenApp. I didn't at first. My gut reaction was that this was a hasty marketing name change by Citrix. But once I got over the shock of change (the shock that would come with any name change), I whole-heartily agree with Citrix that the new name makes much more sense than the old name.

Is is time for Microsoft to create "User Center" to complement System Center?

All of the big vendors are so focused on managing "systems" (virtual, local, remote, streaming, on-demand, snap-shotted) that they're forgetting the "other half" of what customers have to deal with each day: the users! What if they took user management as seriously as system management?

They also raised the price, removed all references to actual Citrix products, and switched to a deep-blue / light-blue color scheme.

Citrix bought Orbital Data and released the WANscaler product almost a year ago. After learning more about the products and how they work, I really think that WANscaler will grow to become a very important part of Citrix's application delivery platform.

Is it time for Citrix to create a service provider licensing program?

Many vendors, including Microsoft, have special licensing programs for service providers. They essentially let them "pay as they go," only charging them a small amount per user per month instead of some huge up-front costs. Is it time for Citrix to offer a similar program?

At the Citrix Summit 07, Citrix announced that enteo Software was their Solution Partner of the Year for 2006. enteo makes software for server imaging and application deployment.
