Out of TS Cals, in the Licensing forum on BrianMadden.com

long post so I apologize in advance

Setup:

5 - PS (xen) 4.5 servers 1 farm on W2K3 SP1 - not virtualized
TS License Server W2K3 SP1 DC - Licensing mode - Per Device (24x7 shop) in Domain mode
All PS servers point to TS License server

Noticed I have old Metaframe XP W2K servers (6 servers total, using 60 licenses) on my 2K3 TS license server.
I have completely taken down my old farm, old servers are no longer on domain. Last server was removed 2 weeks ago.
These TS cals are marked to expire over the next 2 months, which if I understand the licensing correctly should be put back into my available pool when they expire, giving me 60 TS Cals back. If that happens great I have no problem then other then currently being out of licenses and not being able to add anyone new.
I called MS Clearing house to see if they would issue me a 60 TS Cal liscense key, but they said no. I would need to completely deactivate and uninstall the TS licensing and reinstall and then reactivate to clear out those licenses. I get that and if that is what I have to do ok.

My question is if I do that what does that do to my existing clients that already have a valid license issued?
All my internal clients connect to published desktop via WYSE 1125 or S10's.
I do have WI (v 3.0, CSG 2.0) setup and have people hitting the published apps from home or where ever also.

Is this something I should do during a maintenance window? Will the WYSE units balk on connection after TS License resetup because they already have TS license issued? No way to remove TS cal like on a pc for these units.

Is there a different way to get rid of these old servers using up cals other than reinstalling TS licensing?

Maybe I need to post under PS/XenApp,

I need to know if I Deactivate, Uninstall, Reinstall, Reactivate my 2003 TS Licensing what will that do to my existing issued TS licenses to my WYSE units.

Can I do this while my users are logged in?

Am I going to run into all my users getting deined from their existing license when they relogin next day?
