How did you spend your summer?

I have spent mine neck deep in customer environments, really digging in and getting to know their IT infrastructures intimately. What a great way to spend my summer break....seriously though, I wanted to share with you a key component of my methodology in any engagement. More specifically Citrix-related engagements.

Using "vuja de" to be Innovative and Creating a Dynamic IT Environment

I was a big fan of George Carlin and I was reading a little blurb on him today. I loved the "seven dirty words you can't say on TV". It reminded me of another little skit of his on 'vuja de'; which means taking a look at something familiar with a new perspective as if you had never seen it before, and with that new perspective developing a new line of sight into the future. . I would like to share these thoughts with you and some work I've been doing on a paper on how to use Citrix technology to increase the innovation within your company and create a 'dynamic IT' environment and now taking the vuja de concept and applying it to Citrix.

How many virtualization vendor relationships do you have?

I was catching up on some reading over the long holiday weekend and ran across an interesting article on CIO.com: "Seven Tips for Managing a Multiple -Vendor Virtualization Environment." and it got me to thinking. How many of you out there have multiple-vendor virtualization environments in production? Does standardizing on one virtualization vendor make sense or not?

As the Clouds grow

As I'm digging deeper and deeper into this world of "clouds", I started to think about how you might get locked in and lose the portability that is so cool about cloud computing. What will be changing and what will have to be done to prevent that from happening? Standards. I touch upon some other things that got me to thinking as well like excess capacity, what do you do with it if you're a cloud vendor? What about the chance to provide services to specific industries like Web2Print for print companies.
